Chrissandra Unger
ALCM, RTC, MA (she/her)
I specialize in supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and professional burnout. Life transitions can be overwhelming, often bringing deep grief that we may overlook or dismiss. Having walked this path myself, I understand these struggles firsthand. However, I firmly believe that every individual has the innate ability to heal, regain balance, and rediscover their resilience.
My holistic approach integrates verbal and non-verbal therapies, including music therapy, sound healing, and gentle movement, creating a safe space for transformation. Through compassionate listening and the power of sound, vibration, and music, I help regulate the nervous system and facilitate deep healing—without pressure or rigid expectations.
While change can feel intimidating, it is also an opportunity for growth. The way we respond to it shapes our healing journey. To help you explore whether this path is right for you, I offer a complimentary 20-minute "meet & greet" session—a no-obligation opportunity to ask questions and learn more before committing to therapy.
If you're ready to take the next step, I invite you to contact me today to schedule your free session and begin your journey toward healing and empowerment.
A Little About Me
Before earning my Master’s degree (MA) in Expressive Arts Therapy and Psychology from the European Graduate School in Saas-Fee, Switzerland, I spent 15 years teaching piano and music theory (ALCM) and exhibited as a professional artist across Canada, the U.S., and Europe. I believe that personal growth is an ongoing process—each day, we have the opportunity to create and re-create ourselves, becoming more aligned with who we truly are.
As a counselor based in Nanaimo, I specialize in working with young adults, women, professionals, and individuals on the autism spectrum. For seven years, I provided Expressive Arts Therapy in an addictions treatment center, supporting First Responders and Veterans coping with trauma, PTSD, and substance abuse. Additionally, I have led multiple workshops for professionals in healthcare and coaching, helping them integrate creativity and therapeutic approaches into their work.
I also offer Biofield Tuning, sound healing, and vocal therapy as complementary treatments, which have been highly effective in releasing emotional and physical tension stored in the body due to past experiences.
One of my greatest passions is guiding empaths, highly sensitive people (HSPs), and introverts, helping them cultivate self-worth, resilience, and a sense of belonging in today’s fast-paced world.

Message from Chrissandra
Life as a Spiral: Embracing the Journey of Healing
Life moves in spirals—just like the patterns we see in the universe, flowers, seashells, nature, and even our DNA. Our personal growth follows a similar path, unfolding in cycles rather than straight lines. Expressive arts and creative therapy help us reconnect with our senses, awaken our imagination, and bring renewed vitality to both mind and body.
I have navigated the rugged inner landscapes of transformation and understand firsthand that healing is rarely linear. The journey often feels like crossing mountains, deserts, forests, valleys, and rough seas—challenging yet profoundly meaningful. However, with guidance from someone who has walked this path, the journey becomes not only possible but empowering.
At the heart of this work is love, hope, and self-compassion—the foundation for true healing. Bridging the gap between shame and self-love requires patience, courage, and the continual practice of nurturing our inner world. Just as we tend to a garden, we cultivate resilience and strength by showing ourselves the compassion we so freely give to others.
